Our team

Mariana 

President

Mariana was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She studied economics in Bogotá and earned a master’s degree in the UK. She worked in development cooperation for many years in Colombia and Southeast Asia and now lives and works in Luxembourg with her husband and children. Mariana loves to sing, dance, cook and play football with her children.

Mariana has been president of Macondo-Luxembourg asbl since 2025 and led the expansion of Macondo to support projects in Colombia. Outside of Macondo, Mariana is also involved in a local organization in the district of Eich, in Luxembourg.


Éric

Treasurer

Eric was born in Troisvierges, Luxembourg. He studied business in Belgium and holds a master’s degree from the UK. Eric has worked in development cooperation in Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America, and is currently managing projects in Africa. Eric lives in Luxembourg with his wife and children. When he is not working, Eric likes to spend time in his garden, go to the cinema and play football with his children.

Eric has been the treasurer of Macondo-Luxembourg asbl since 2025 and has extensive experience in managing non-profit organizations in Luxembourg. More than 25 years ago, Eric founded an NGO dedicated to supporting projects in Burkina Faso and is now part of it as treasurer.

Mari Luz

Secretary

Mari Luz was born in Colombia, in the region of Antioquia. After studying chemistry in Medellín, she pursued her studies in Belgium and France, then moved to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2002, where she now lives with her two children. In her free time, Mari Luz enjoys reading, nature walks and going to the theatre.

She participated in the creation of the Association Macondo – Luxembourg asbl, of which she was a founding member. From 2022 to 2025, she had the honor of chairing our association, with dedication and simplicity. Currently, she is in charge of the association’s secretariat. For her, it is above all about building bridges between our two cultures, with kindness and generosity.
